On May 30, 2025, the 2nd International Scientific Conference of the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology Society of Bangladesh (PAGSB) took place at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. The event gathered a significant number of Bangladeshi gynaecologists, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, focusing on innovative strategies to enhance adolescent and paediatric gynaecology in Bangladesh.
Prof. Khondaker A. Mamun, an academic and the Founder of CMED Health and AIMS Lab at United International University (UIU), delivered a keynote speech titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology: Transforming Care for Young Girls through AI-Driven Solutions.” His presentation emphasized the crucial role of AI in revolutionizing healthcare delivery, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) like Bangladesh.
During his session, Prof. Mamun outlined how AI can address critical challenges in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, including undiagnosed and delayed conditions, fragmented health services, limited specialized care, and data gaps. He highlighted the potential of AI-driven platforms like Susastho.AI and Bangla Medical GPT to offer real-time support in preventive and primary care, telemedicine, risk assessment, and data-driven decision-making.
The talk resonated strongly with the audience, as Prof. Mamun underscored how integrating advanced AI tools can significantly reduce maternal mortality rates (MMR) and infant mortality rates (IMR) by providing accessible, personalized, and timely healthcare to young girls and mothers. His presentation showcased how technology can empower both patients and providers, fostering a future where digital health inclusion bridges critical gaps in maternal and child health.
The conference served as a vital platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing, bringing together voices dedicated to improving adolescent health and well-being across Bangladesh and beyond.
