On February 8, 2025, the International Medical Tourism Conference convened healthcare leaders, innovators, and policymakers at Daffodil Plaza, Dhaka, to explore transformative pathways in healthcare through digital innovation. Organized by the Bangladesh Medical Tourism Association, the event aimed to spotlight advancements that can elevate patient care, global medical collaboration, and cross-border healthcare solutions.

Prof. Dr. Khondaker Abdullah Al-Mamun, Founder of CMED Health and Director of IRIIC at United International University (UIU), participated as a distinguished guest speaker, delivering a powerful talk on “Digital Health Inclusion to Transform Healthcare, Improve Wellbeing, and Extend Lives.”

In his session, Prof. Mamun highlighted how digital health platforms powered by AI and IoT are reshaping access, affordability, and continuity of care. Drawing on CMED Health’s real-world impact across Bangladesh, he emphasized the need for locally adapted innovations to democratize healthcare delivery—especially in rural and underserved areas. He also illustrated how data-driven decision-making, remote diagnostics, and integrated care models can improve patient outcomes and reduce systemic costs.

The conference served as a unique convergence point between healthcare professionals, technology experts, and tourism stakeholders—underscoring the importance of aligning digital transformation with the expanding scope of medical tourism in Bangladesh.

Prof. Mamun’s presence reaffirmed the growing recognition of Bangladesh’s digital health sector on the global stage and the pivotal role innovators like him are playing in shaping sustainable, inclusive healthcare ecosystems.
