Prof. Mamun Participates in Neuro-Rehabilitation Workshop at Ulster University, UK

On March 18, 2025, Prof. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Director of IRIIC at United International University and Founder of CMED Health, took part in a specialized Neuro-Rehabilitation Workshop at Ulster University in Northern Ireland, UK. The workshop focused on emerging tools and techniques in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology and their application in neuro-rehabilitation therapy, especially for patients experiencing paralysis or other neurological impairments.

The session featured hands-on demonstrations involving platforms like Unicorn LSL and custom MATLAB applications for real-time EEG signal processing. Participants explored how BCI systems can be used to support cognitive and motor recovery, offering new hope in the treatment of neuro-disabilities.

Prof. Mamun’s participation highlights the increasing need for cross-disciplinary innovation in healthcare—where neuroscience, data analytics, and digital platforms converge. As a leading voice in AI and digital health from Bangladesh, his engagement with global experts at Ulster University reinforces IRIIC’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancement.

The knowledge and insights gathered from such international forums directly enrich IRIIC’s own research and development efforts in Bangladesh. Ongoing projects at IRIIC, including explorations into BCI-powered cognitive analysis like MindwaveAnalytics, reflect the growing relevance of brain-computer technology not just in clinical settings but across multiple sectors.

By actively participating in global dialogues and workshops, Prof. Mamun continues to bring valuable global perspectives back to Bangladesh—helping shape a future where technology enhances lives, improves rehabilitation outcomes, and strengthens human potential through science.
