Professor Dr. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Director of the Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation and Commercialization (IRIIC) at United International University (UIU), delivered the keynote address at an exclusive seminar organized by the Centre of Excellence: Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).
The seminar, titled ‘Building Innovation Ecosystem for Bangladesh 2.0’, brought together aspiring student entrepreneurs, researchers, and faculty members to explore the next phase of the country’s innovation journey. In his keynote, Prof. Mamun shared strategic insights on how academia can catalyze innovation-driven development by bridging research with commercialization, promoting startup culture within universities, and leveraging emerging technologies like AI and IoT.
Drawing on his own experience leading national innovation programs and founding digital health platforms like CMED Health, he emphasized the importance of visionary leadership, institutional support, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to foster an inclusive and robust innovation ecosystem.
The seminar served as an inspiration for the next generation of changemakers, reinforcing the critical role of universities like AUST in shaping the future of a smart, knowledge-based Bangladesh.
