Prof. Dr. Khondaker Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Director of the Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation and Commercialization (IRIIC) at United International University and Founder of CMED Health, attended the World NRB Summit 2024, held on December 26, 2024, in Dhaka. The summit was a celebration of the global Bangladeshi diaspora’s contributions and its growing role in shaping the country’s future through investment, innovation, and knowledge exchange.

Organized by NRB World and Business Asia, in collaboration with key partners such as the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), BMCCI, ABCCI, CIS-BCCI, and the Global NRB Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the day-long event brought together over 500 expatriates from 25 countries, spanning sectors like healthcare, education, technology, banking, and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Mamun participated in the summit’s expert sessions and discussions focused on innovation, digital transformation, and the role of research commercialization in national development. Drawing from his extensive experience with AI-driven healthcare initiatives and startup ecosystem building, he shared perspectives on how global collaboration and diaspora expertise can accelerate Bangladesh’s journey toward inclusive progress.

The inaugural session was led by Lutfe Siddiqui, Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Interim Government, who described the summit as a “golden opportunity” for NRBs to play a strategic role in rebuilding and redefining Bangladesh’s development narrative.

While the Global NRB Awards 2024 ceremony recognized outstanding individuals from the diaspora, Prof. Mamun’s presence at the summit reflected his continued engagement in thought leadership and global knowledge exchange. His participation underscored the importance of uniting academic innovation, entrepreneurship, and international partnerships in pursuit of Bangladesh 2.0.

The World NRB Summit 2024 concluded with renewed energy for cross-border collaboration, policy innovation, and collective efforts to connect the talents of NRBs with the country’s long-term aspirations.
