Prof. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Director of IRIIC at United International University and Founder of CMED Health, participated in today’s national workshop on “Ensuring Quality and Dignity in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) and Nutrition Services, Addressing Last Mile Challenges in Safe Pregnancy,” held in Dhaka. The event brought together policymakers, healthcare professionals, development partners, and innovators to explore solutions for improving access to essential MNCH and nutrition services in Bangladesh.
In his remarks, Prof. Mamun emphasized that achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) requires a bold transformation of maternal and child healthcare systems—particularly in rural and underserved areas. Drawing from his work at CMED Health, he highlighted the role of AI-powered digital platforms in enabling early detection, remote care, and data-driven maternal health interventions that preserve dignity and improve outcomes.
The workshop called attention to persistent gaps in MNCH services and the urgent need to ensure quality, accountability, and transparency in service delivery. Speakers discussed leveraging technology, community engagement, and cross-sector collaboration to reach the “last mile” and ensure safe pregnancies and equitable care for every mother and child.
Prof. Mamun’s presence underscored the importance of integrating innovative, locally adaptable digital health solutions into national policy frameworks. His participation reflected IRIIC’s ongoing mission to support evidence-based health reform and to help shape a more inclusive, resilient health system for Bangladesh.
