Final Pitch Day of LaunchPad by UIHP@UIU Showcases Bangladesh’s Emerging Startup Talent

The final pitch day of LaunchPad by UIHP@UIU—the flagship startup incubation program hosted by IRIIC at United International University (UIU)—was held with great excitement and celebration. After more than three months of intensive mentorship, idea development, and business model refinement, 18 outstanding teams emerged as winners, receiving seed funding totaling BDT 7.5 lakh.

Out of 45 nominated startup teams, the graduating cohort pitched solutions across sectors like health tech, sustainable energy, consumer innovation, and assistive technology. Each selected startup received funding support ranging from BDT 10,000 to BDT 100,000, aimed at helping them take their ideas to the next stage.

Among the standout teams:

  1. Team Neurons introduced a neuromarketing platform aimed at revolutionizing consumer behavior research using brain-computer interface technology.
  2. Team PELTIERS proposed an energy-efficient, low-cost air conditioning module, targeting both environmental sustainability and affordability.
  3. Team SoundVision showcased AI-powered smart glasses designed to assist the visually impaired through features like object detection, face recognition, and real-time audiobook functionality.

LaunchPad is an initiative of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) Project, supported by the ICT Division, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, and The World Bank. The program is designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and impactful problem-solving among young talents from across Bangladesh.

The success of LaunchPad marks a major milestone in UIU’s commitment to building a robust, inclusive startup ecosystem that encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration and turns ideas into market-ready ventures. With initiatives like this, IRIIC continues to position Bangladesh as a rising hub of youth-driven innovation.
