SmartEndo: An AI-Powered Screening Tool for Endometriosis Risk Assessment

Endometriosis is a growing public health concern, affecting 1 in 10 women worldwide, including 1.2 million in Bangladesh. Many women experience a delay of 6 to 10 years between symptom onset and diagnosis due to lack of awareness, the normalization of menstrual pain, social stigma, and limited access to healthcare. This delay leads to serious consequences, including infertility, mental health challenges, and strained relationships, while imposing a significant economic burden through direct and indirect costs. To address this, early risk assessment is essential. SmartEndo, an AI-based, culturally accepted screening tool for Bangladesh, will assess women at risk of developing endometriosis. Through this, SmartEndo can facilitate early diagnosis and timely treatment, while also offering referral and follow-up support. This tool aims to reduce suffering and improve quality of life for millions of women.
