Smart SuSastho Kormi (SSK) is an innovative digital healthcare platform designed to address Bangladesh’s critical challenges in preventive and primary healthcare. The SSK model connects local pharmacies with digital health solutions, enabling a structured system of healthcare monitoring, referrals, and telemedicine. Implemented across 479 pharmacies and benefiting 8515 individuals, this model bridges the gap in healthcare access by leveraging smart health kits, digital health accounts, and artificial intelligence for clinical decision support. The study highlights the high prevalence of hypertension (11.24%) and diabetes (8.47%) in Bangladesh, with age and gender as significant risk factors. By utilizing local pharmacies as healthcare hubs, SSK not only improves community access to medical services but also addresses medication misuse, thereby combating antimicrobial resistance. This approach empowers pharmacy owners economically and ensures cost-effective healthcare delivery, particularly in underserved rural areas. The SSK model is a significant step toward achieving universal health coverage in Bangladesh, setting a precedent for digital health inclusion in developing nations.
