AWC Organizes Seminar on Preventive Healthcare through Natural Means: Prof. Mamun Among Distinguished Speakers

The American Wellness Center (AWC) hosted a scientific seminar on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Green Garden, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, focusing on the theme “Preventive Healthcare through Natural Means: Emphasizing Diet and Lifestyle.” The event gathered leading voices in health and wellness to promote a holistic approach to healthcare and raise awareness about sustainable well-being.

The seminar was presided over by Mr. Mohammad Mahbubul Haque, Chairman of AWC. The session was graced by Mr. Mohammad Saidur Rahman, Secretary of the Health Services Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Professor Dr. M. Mujibul Haque, Consultant at the Center of Integrative Medicine, USA, delivered the keynote speech. He emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and urged the adoption of diet and lifestyle modifications as powerful tools to combat chronic illnesses and enhance overall wellness. His insights were grounded in scientific evidence and years of clinical experience in integrative health.

Prof. Dr. Khondaker Abdullah Al-Mamun, Director of the Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation and Commercialization (IRIIC) and Founder of CMED Health, was among the special guests and speakers. In his remarks, Prof. Mamun highlighted how digital health solutions—especially those developed locally—are revolutionizing primary healthcare and making prevention more accessible. He called for deeper integration between public health policies and innovation-driven approaches that empower individuals to take charge of their own health using affordable, AI-powered tools.

The seminar also featured the presence of other distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Zafar, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), and Dr. Muhammad Mostafizur Rahman, Joint Secretary of the Health Services Division. Their participation underscored the government’s growing commitment to holistic health promotion and the critical need for collaboration across sectors.

Moderated by AWC Advisor Muhammad Imtiaz, the seminar drew over 600 attendees including healthcare professionals, students, and members of the local community. The interactive Q&A session allowed participants to directly engage with experts and further emphasized the value of shared knowledge in shaping a healthier future.
