On May 21, 2025, Prof. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Founder of CMED Health and Director of IRIIC at United International University, joined an influential panel at the 2nd National Youth Dialogue organized by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD). Held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka, this year’s dialogue focused on “Youth Perspectives on Reform: Health and Technology.”
The event brought together policymakers, academics, technologists, and youth representatives to explore forward-looking strategies for addressing critical challenges in the health and tech sectors. Prof. Mamun joined the panel titled “স্বাস্থ্য ও প্রযুক্তি”, where he shared his insights on digital health transformation, the role of AI in healthcare, and how young innovators can play a vital role in shaping the future of Bangladesh’s health system.
In his remarks, Prof. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun stressed the urgent need to empower youth with tools for innovation, especially in underserved areas. He highlighted that Bangladesh’s health challenges demand technology-driven solutions beyond traditional approaches. Drawing from his work with CMED Health, he shared how mobile and AI-based platforms are already improving early detection and preventive care in rural settings. He emphasized the value of low-cost, scalable digital tools to bridge the urban-rural healthcare divide. Prof. Mamun also showcased IRIIC’s efforts to nurture young innovators tackling real-world health issues. Through research, mentorship, and incubation, IRIIC is enabling youth to create impactful, community-based health solutions. He called for more national support to expand such efforts. Empowering youth, he argued, is key to sustainable healthcare reform. With the right ecosystem, young minds can drive transformation. His message was clear: innovation must be inclusive to be effective.
