On May 20, 2025, Prof. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Founder of CMED Health and Director of IRIIC at United International University, participated in a high-level discussion on the Health Reforms Commission report and its implementation opportunities. The event was held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka, and was organized by the Institute of Health Economics (IHE), DU.
The dialogue, titled “স্বাস্থ্য সংস্কার কমিশনের সুপারিশসমূহ বাস্তবায়নে করণীয়” (Steps for Implementing the Recommendations of the Health Reforms Commission), brought together public health experts, academics, policymakers, and institutional leaders to critically evaluate the pathways for translating policy recommendations into action.
Presided over by Dr. Sharmin Manik Twisha, Lecturer at IHE, the event featured opening remarks from Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, former Advisor to the Caretaker Government and Executive Chairman of Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC). The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Syed Abdul Hamid, Professor at IHE, University of Dhaka.
This discussion marked a critical moment of collaboration between academic institutions, health economists, and digital health innovators, paving the way for more coordinated and impactful healthcare reform in Bangladesh.
